  • How to prove VA Home Loan Eligibility

To prove your VA home loan eligibility:

    • Must be a current servicemember, Veteran, National Guard member or Reservist, or the surviving spouse of a Veteran.
    • Active duty personnel must serve 90 continuous days
    • Veterans must show 90 or more days of active duty during wartime or 181 days during peacetime
    • National Guard personnel must have served in the Gulf War for 90 days or more or have an honorable discharge
    • Military spouses must not be remarried, and your late spouse must have died on active duty or died from service related injuries.
  • Can I still be eligible if I don't meet the standard guidelines?

Your VA Loan specialist at Coffee Mortgages will be able to review your circumstances to determine your VA home loan eligibility. If you served fewer days than required, (see tab above), you may still be eligible if you were discharged because of:

    • Hardship
    • The convenience of the government
    • (RIF) Reduction-in-force
    • Certain medical conditions
    • Service-related disability
  • What documents are required?

To apply for your VA Home Loan, we will need to review certain documentation to determine eligibility, such as:

    • Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the VA
    • Your driver’s license with the current address
    • Social Security number
    • Current pay stubs
    • Tax returns and W-2s for the past two years
    • Current employment information
    • Bank account statements
    • Information on creditors and on the loans you currently have

If you have any questions regarding these documents, one of our VA Loan Specialists would be happy to help.
